The first CoaXPress high-speed camera in the world

4 MP CoaXPress for industry

In 2011, Optronis introduced the first 4 MP CoaXPress camera of its time in the world. This allowed Optronis to provide a particularly simple and very economic solution for real-time vision for system integration in industrial applications. The coaxial cable also allows distances to be bridged. Alongside the 4 MP, the range has now expanded greatly. Since November 2012, Optronis has supplied a camera with CoaXPress connection that delivers an even higher performance: the 25 MP CoaXPress camera, which offers a framerate of 72 frames per second at full resolution.
At the same time that the 25 MP was introduced in November 2012, the draft design of the 12 MP CoaXPress camera was also presented. It delivers a framerate of 165 frames per second at full resolution. From this first CoaXPress family, the customer can now select the appropriate camera model according to the performance they require. The simplicity in handling impressively demonstrated by all the models in Optronis’ CP (CameraPerformance) series is realized mainly through standardization in technology and application.

Standards make for great user-friendly tools
The camera can be quickly integrated into an existing system by means of a configuration tool. Our CoaXPress cameras are designed to EMVA 1288 standard, which allows customers to make comparisons with other high-speed cameras on the basis of some simple principles. All cameras also comply with the GenICam (Generic Interface for Cameras) standard, which makes the programming and integration of the camera easier; the camera is no longer programmed via customer-specific technologies but is instead linked to the GenICam API (Application Programming Interface). Furthermore, the product design lets you connect standard industrial lenses, such as Nikon lenses, to CoaXPress cameras – further proof of the cameras’ user-friendly concept. Of course, Optronis also supplies cameras with Camera Link interface so that customers can choose the right model for them from as wide a range as possible.
